Jocelyn Nieva is a Legal Advisor with various ICNL Programs, including Latin America, Newly Independent States and Middle East/Northern Africa. Ms. Nieva most recently served as Assistant General Counsel of the Inter-American Foundation, an independent agency of the United States Government that promotes grassroots development in Latin America and the Caribbean through grants to civil society organizations. In that position, she specialized in federal grants and contracts, ethics and administrative law in general. Previously, Ms. Nieva worked as a regulatory attorney with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and a private law firm; she also clerked for the Honorable Associate Judge Vanessa Ruiz of the D.C. Court of Appeals. Ms. Nieva is a graduate of American University’s Washington College of Law (J.D.), the University of Texas at Austin (M.A., Latin American Studies) and the George Washington University (B.A.).
