Undarya Tumursukh
Undarya Tumursukh is the National Coordinator of MONFEMNET National Network, a leading women’s rights and human rights NGO in Mongolia. Undarya has been engaged in pro-democracy, human rights and gender equality activism in Mongolia since 1992. She has helped found the Voter Education Center, National CEDAW Watch Network, the “Monitoring and Protecting Human Rights under the State of Emergency” coalition, the “Hands Up for Your Rights!” youth campaign, “All for Education!” National Civil Society Coalition and serves as a board member of the Open Society Forum of Mongolia. Since 2002, she has actively participated in promotion of overall civil society development in Mongolia via public discussions, research and analysis, advocacy on NGO legislation, solidarity and consensus building among diverse civil society sectors. Undarya is also active regionally and internationally and serves as a board member of AWID, Association for Women’s Rights in Development, a leading international NGO dedicated to promoting women’s rights. She was educated as a political scientist at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, USA, and holds a M.A. from the Central European University, Budapest, Hungary.
