09-12-08: New Charity Department Established in China
A new department to foster charity and social welfare has been established under the auspices of the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs. Among other issues, the department will address charitable activities, welfare lotteries, and projects to support the elderly, children, and the disabled.
