ICNL Hires New Program Director for Central Asia

The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law is pleased to announce that Kevin T. Borrup has been hired to serve as our new Program Director for Central Asia based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Working with ICNL staff in Almaty and Washington, Mr. Borrup will help coordinate ICNL’s Central Asian Program, which covers Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan. The program focuses on legislative assistance, capacity building, implementation assistance, and regional initiatives to improve the legal and fiscal framework affecting civil society in the region.

Mr. Borrup received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut, Master of Public Administration degree from the Rutgers University and Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers School of Law. Mr. Borrup served as the Compliance Officer at the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services (COA), New York, USA. Previously, Mr. Borrup was a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Consultant for the United States Peace Corps, Vilnius, Lithuania, working directly with local NGOs on legal, organizational and management issues, and, before that, served as an intern with ICNL.
