ICNL hosts a workshop at the University of Nairobi.

Around the world, the space for civil society is shrinking. As governments, civil society organizations (CSOs), and multilateral organizations seek to respond, the need has never been greater for trained experts on the laws governing CSOs.

University-level courses play a crucial role in educating young experts capable of promoting and protecting safe legal space for civil society. To support the study of civil society law at universities and schools of law in sub-Saharan Africa, ICNL is pleased to announce an African Education Initiative (AEI).

The AEI will provide grants to support the creation of an education initiative on civil society law. For more information, please see the full Call for Applications.
