Programs by Focus Area: Educational Initiatives
ICNL seeks to provide the tools necessary to strengthen the legal framework supporting civil society. Our educational programs target academic institutions, CSO leaders, government officials, judges, lawyers, and others active in civil society. Goals include building capacity, developing educational partnerships, and providing participant training.
Illustrative activities include (additional information about all programs may be found by clicking on the region/country title):
- Law school courses in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia as well as clinical training on civil society law. For more information about ICNL's law school course initiatives please see NGOLaw.org.
- Workshops and seminars on international best practices for CSOs and governments in Central Asia, Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, the Pacific, and Latin America.
- Fellowships and internships for professionals from the Middle East and North Africa.
- Development and distribution of local language educational materials and publications in Eurasia.
- Study tours and exchange programs promoting understanding and information sharing for professionals from Vietnam and Russia.
- Internet and electronic resources (online library, IJNL, and publications) for research and knowledge sharing.
