From August 21 - 23, 2011, 200 global leaders from 83 countries convened
in Stockholm, Sweden to advance civil society law.

Welcome remarks were delivered by two Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, as well as US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Keynote remarks were delivered by Swedish Minister of International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson.  In addition, UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights to Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and of Association Maina Kiai held his first global NGO consultation with many of the 200+ Forum delegates.
