Money Exchange Locations

The best places to exchange money are banks and private exchange offices that can be found on almost every street. The hotel requests 12-15% commission when exchanging foreign currency. Almost all shops and restaurants accept MasterCard and Visa, but American Express is not as widely accepted.

Local Transportation from the Dedeman Hotel to the City Center

The hotel is not located in the center of Istanbul. The best way to get from the hotel to the city center is by taking a taxi, which should cost no more than 5 USD.

Information about Taxis

The hotel will have a designated group of taxis available for guests. Please ask the doorman of the hotel to call a taxi and he can provide you with a reliable taxi driver. All taxis in Turkey have an electronic taximeter and the passenger needs to only pay the amount on the taximeter. Any additional tip is up to the discretion of the passenger. Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will conference materials for all sessions be available at the Global Forum for all participants?

If you are interested in conference materials for all of the sessions, we strongly encourage you to print off the materials from the website. Not all sessions will provide enough handouts for every participant at the Global Forum. We will endeavor to place all conference materials on the website in order for every participant to have access to all material presented at the Global Forum. Please check the conference agenda for the materials for each session.

2. What is the registration fee?

The registration fee for the Global Forum is $395. It covers all meals and conference materials. Please note that the registration fee does not cover airfare, hotel accommodations, local transportation, or visa expenses. Please submit the registration fee by check or wire transfer to ICNL. The wire transfer must reference the participant's name and wire transfer details can be found in the acceptance letter email. If you received a notice that we have not received your registration fee, please bring a copy of the wire transfer or check to the Global Forum. If you have not sent a check or made a wire transfer for the reservation fee, please bring a check for $395 to pay the fee at the registration desk.

3. When is the registration fee due to ICNL?

The registration fee is to be paid and received by October 15, 2005. ICNL will refund $195 if we received notice of cancellation on or before October 15, 2005. No refunds will be given for cancellations processed after October 15, 2005.

4. What is the conference hotel?

5. What is the deadline for making hotel arrangements?

In order to receive the conference rate, all hotel reservations must be made by October 15, 2005.

6. How do I make hotel arrangements?

Please do not contact the hotel directly to make reservations. Please email Erin Means, globalforum@incl.org to request a reservation forms for the hotel.

7. Are incidentals included in the set cost of the conference hotel?

All participants must cover their own incidental expenses including minibar, pay TV, telephone. These costs are not included in the set conference hotel room rate, but are additional charges that must be paid when checking out of the hotel. ICNL will not cover these costs for any participants.

8. Where can I find information about local transportation in Istanbul?

For more information about local transportation in Istanbul, please click here. The approximate cost of a taxi ride from the airport to the hotel is 25-30 USD and it should take about 40-45 minutes to travel from the airport to the hotel.

10. What if I need a visa invitation letter?

11. What are the Global Forum Travel Policies?

12. I am a participant in the Global Forum and will have a guest traveling with me. Is it possible for him/her to attend the meals at the Global Forum?

Please click here for the guest meal registration form. Please note that we are already over capacity and have a very limited amount of space for all meals. We will take reservations on a first-come, first-serve basis, but may not be able to accommodate all requests. Those guests that have a confirmed and paid reservation for the reception and/or dinners will have a special badge at the registration table. Also, we will unfortunately not be able to accommodate guests at the conference lunches. All guest meal arrangements must be made prior to October 15, 2005.

13. Does the hotel have internet access?

The Dedeman Hotel has wireless internet access in the lobby and all meeting rooms. Computers without wireless cards will need a USB or PCMCI card to access the wireless network. The hotel has a very limited number of wireless cards for guest use.

14. If I am staying additional days in Istanbul, how can I arrange sight seeing tours?

The company handling the hotel accommodations and logisitcs has put together some your package options for Global Forum participants.
