Isabel Peñalosa-Esteban

Isabel Peñalosa-Esteban is currently the Director of Institutional Relations and Legal Affairs in the Spanish Association of Foundations. She has a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and also has a Ph.D. in Law from Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid.

Since 2003 Isabel has been a legal counsel in the Spanish Association of Foundations and before in the Spanish Confederation of Foundations since 2001. Currently, her main responsibilities include advising and providing recommendations to Spanish foundations on their legal and fiscal obligations, good governance practices, and other self-regulatory tools. She is also responsible, under the coordination of the board, for maintaining dialogue with regulators and producing the reports and proposals required on each occasion. She is a regular speaker at courses and seminars on legal and fiscal regimes of foundations and Third Sector organizations. She is also the author of several articles and papers on individual and collaborative publications in Spain and abroad.

Isabel is member of the editorial board of Anuario de Derecho de Fundaciones, a Spanish review on foundations law, member of the board of Derecho y Discapacidad Foundation, and cooperates with other European organizations or working groups as European Charittees Committee on VAT (ECCVAT) or The Civil Society Plattform on the FATF.
