Waruguru Kaguongo served as research fellow for the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and of Association, Maina Kiai (2012 – April 2017). She has previously worked as a researcher at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, focusing on the promotion and protection of human rights in Africa. As a Legal/Programme Officer at the Kenya National Commission for Human Rights, she provided technical advice and contributed to the design and implementation of programs in collaboration with government officials and civil society organizations. Waruguru is a graduate of the Universities of Nairobi in Kenya and Pretoria in South Africa.
