Dan Songco

Advisory Council

Mr. Songco serves as the President and CEO of PinoyME Foundation, the social investment arm of the PinoyME consortium that provides innovative credit and non-credit support to microfinance institutions to promote growth of micro enterprises in the Philippines.

In addition to numerous professional consultancies with the World Bank and elsewhere, and substantial positions with several for- and not-for-profit organizations, Mr. Songco served as Director of the Development Bank of the Philippines (2001 – 2004). He also served as National Coordinator and CEO for the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (1993 – 2002), the largest formation of development NGOs in the Philippines with over 2,500 NGOs and cooperatives as members. Mr. Songco developed the strategic direction and programs of the coalition and headed the National Secretariat.

Mr. Songco was Chair (2001 – 2002) and Vice-Chair (1999 – 2001) of the Philippine Council for NGO Certification, PCNC, which is the duly recognized NGO body that certifies all non-profit organizations before the Bureau of Internal Revenue of the Philippine government can grant them tax exemption as donee institution.
