Julie Hunter

Julie Hunter is a Legal Advisor for the Asia program at the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL), where she works on expanding the civic space in Asia.

Prior to joining ICNL, Julie worked as an attorney for Blue Ocean Law where she spearheaded projects on indigenous rights, environmental justice, and corporate accountability, including extractive and climate initiatives. She also served as a visiting scholar at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, and Clinic Fellow for the International Justice and Human Rights Clinic at the University of British Columbia Allard Law School. Julie has worked for various human rights organizations and institutions, including the Council of Europe Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights, the European Court of Human Rights, and the Coalition for the International Criminal Court. She is the author of numerous human rights reports and academic publications.

Julie holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. from Harvard University.
