Letter to Harvard about CCP ties
The letter reiterates concerns about Harvard’s ties to the Chinese Communist Party, following up on a similar letter from May. The Chair of the Education and Workforce Committee, Chairman of the Select Committee on the CCP, and Representative Elise Stefanik sent the letter jointly. This letter “identified[s] new evidence related to [Harvard’s] connections to the [CCP],” citing the Harvard Kennedy School’s partnership with the Chinese Executive Leadership Academy Pudong, which the letter alleges is controlled by the CCP Organization Department, as an example. The letter requests documentation of all formal or informal engagement, partnership, or collaboration between Harvard and the Chinese government or CCP, as well as a spreadsheet that details all monetary and non-monetary benefits from entities controlled or directed by the Chinese government or the CCP.
