Gustaf Lind

Advisory Council

Gustaf Lind is the CEO of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Sweden. He is doctor of international law from Stockholm university. After receiving his doctorate he pursued a career in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Sweden. He has been State Secretary for the Minister for Migration 2006-2008 and State Secretary for Foreign and EU Affairs for the Swedish Prime Minister 2008-2010. During this period he coordinated the Swedish Presidency of the European Union 2009 and was G8 Sherpa for the Presidency.

Dr Lind was Arctic Ambassador from 2010 to 2014 and led the Swedish Chairmanship of the Arctic Council as Chair of the Senior Arctic Officials. He then assumed the role as head of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Department of International Law and Human Rights responsible for e.g. Swedish foreign policy on human rights, civic space and democracy.

In 2021 Dr Lind joined Swedish World Wide Fund for Nature as CEO.
