Jiyan Khalil

Senior Program Officer

Jiyan Khalil is a Senior Program Officer at the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL) based in Amman, Jordan. Since joining ICNL in 2016, Jiyan has developed extensive regional expertise through her work primarily across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of programs in Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, and Palestine. She also supports ICNL’s work across Africa and Asia, contributing to grantmaking, communications, program development, and initiatives aimed at promoting civic freedoms and strengthening the legal environment for civil society.

Prior to joining ICNL; Jiyan worked at the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) to help undertaking research-for-development to provide innovative, science-based agricultural solutions that improve the livelihoods resilience of rural dryland communities in MENA region, as well as working for Renewable Energy Project in Jordan.

Jiyan is a graduate from the Hashemite University of Jordan specialized in Computer Science, and was able to create her own career path and gained over 10 years of experience in Non-Profit Sector due to her passion in making a positive impact and progress of people and planet.
