Bindu Sharma serves as Vice President Global Policy & Industry Alliances and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, at the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, a U.S. headquartered NGO. Based in Singapore, she leads the ICMEC program in the region to expand ICMEC’s policy, advocacy, and research agenda; and establish multi-stakeholder partnerships and programs that enhance and enrich frontline practices in child protection. Bindu is a founding director of ICMEC Australia.
Bindu chairs the US and APAC Financial Coalitions against Child Sexual Exploitation, a pioneering collaborative initiative with the financial payments and technology industry, regulators, and law enforcement to counter the scourge of commercial online child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Bindu is a member of the Global Initiative Network and serves on the Steering Committee that endeavors to develop a Global Strategy against Transnational Organized Crime.
Bindu is the author of “Contextualizing CSR in Asia,” a broad survey detailing the history and practice of corporate social responsibility, published by the Lien Centre for Social Innovation at Singapore Management University.
Bindu is a global executive with expertise in policy analysis and formulation, and a skilled collaborator, building public-private partnerships amongst policy makers, law enforcement, multinational financial and technology companies and academia. Bindu is a frequent speaker at international forums, currently focused on global child protection policy & legislation, child rights & business, and cross-sector collaboration & partnerships.
Earlier in her career, Bindu was based in Washington DC with Pact, Inc., a US international development organization, as the Regional Director for Asia. She was also previously based in India with Vam Organic Chemicals Ltd, now Jubilant Life Sciences.
Bindu holds Master of Arts degrees, in Public Policy and International Development, from the Sanford School of Public Policy, Duke University, USA and in Economics, from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the Jesus & Mary College, Delhi University, India.
