Oyebisi B. Oluseyi

Oyebisi B. Oluseyi joined the Nigeria Network of NGOs as the Executive Director in 2012 after 5 years working with the United Nations Children’s Fund in New York where he conceived, founded and managed the “Rural Voices of Youth Initiative”, a project that was taken up by UNICEF Head Quarters in 2008. He has since grown and overseen the Nigeria Network of NGOs from 600 organisations to 2772, shaping its vision towards improving the operational environment for civil society and ensuring that there is an enabling environment for the work of nonprofits in Nigeria.

Oyebisi specializes in civil society strengthening and growth, including capacity building while developing and implementing advocacy activities on the reform of laws guiding the formation and operation of nonprofits in Nigeria.  He has written many publications that focus on civil society regulations and strengthening, part of which is the civil society index and philanthropy report for Nigeria. He was part of the high-level African civil society delegation that negotiated and advocated for adoption of the SDGs by African Heads of States.

Oyebisi also serves on the Executive Committee of the Civil Society Pillar of the Community of Democracy, an intergovernmental organisation and since 2004 had headed a series of portfolios of activities on development policy, civil society strengthening and participatory governance.  He currently serves as a member of the Society for Family and Social Protection (SFSP) in Nigeria and Member Board of Directors Network of West African NGO Platforms (REPAOC). He is a fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants.
