The impact of Financial Action Task Force recommendations on non-profit organisations in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia
PUBLISHED: AUGUST 2015
This report from Statewatch in collaboration with Human Security Collective explores the impact of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) recommendations on non-profit organizations in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
This study is concerned with the implementation of FATF Recommendation 8 on combating the potential “abuse” of non-profit organizations for the purpose of terrorist financing. Its aim is to ascertain the impact of this Recommendation on the regulatory framework for non-profits in selected countries, and how this in turn affects the freedom of association and expression of NPOs.
