ICNL Announces New Director for Central Asia

Mr. Larrabee holds a B.B.A., cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts, a J.D. from the George Washington University National Law Center and an M.B.A from the George Washington University Business School. Prior to joining ICNL, Mr. Larrabee worked on a variety of humanitarian programs in Central Asia and the Caucuses. He started as a Peace Corps volunteer in 1997 in Uzbekistan where he worked on a comparative law program for judges and lawyers. During this time he also helped to start-up and manage a local Economic Education NGO that functions in all 13 regions of the country and currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the NGO. In 2001, Mr. Larrabee moved to the Republic of Georgia to help implement and manage a Rule of Law project that emphasized Human Rights and the development of the NGO sector.

Under the direction of ICNL’s Vice President for NIS, and other ICNL senior staff, Mr. Larrabee will provide legal advice and training on behalf of ICNL’s programs in Central Asia, focusing on legislative assistance, capacity building, implementation assistance, legal training and other regional initiatives.
