Regulating Charities: The Inside Story Launches worldwide
PUBLISHED: JUNE 28, 2017
The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law is pleased to announce the publication of Regulating Charities: The Inside Story, edited by ICNL Advisory Council member Myles McGregor Lowndes and Bob Wyatt. In his foreword, ICNL President and CEO Douglas Rutzen praises the “all-star cast” of authors for a book that is “certain to become a go-to reference for colleagues interested in charity regulation.”
Regulating Charities: The Inside Story shares the insights of major charity regulators – including Charity Commissioners and influential sector reformers – who reflect on the aims and achievements of charity regulations in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. The authors discuss the current state of charities in a fiscally restrained environment, often with conservative governments, and offer their views on productive regulatory paths for the future.
The editors and contributors generously decided to donate any royalties from the book to ICNL, in support of its mission to improve the legal environment for civil society, philanthropy, and public participation around the world.
