CIVICUS State of Civil Society 2011 Report
PUBLISHED: APRIL 11, 2012
On April 10, 2012, CIVICUS released State of Civil Society 2011. The report highlights the current state of civil society, and the opportunity for civil society to prove its value amid global crises. According to CIVICUS, “the solution can only be in the formation of new, more broad-based, inclusive coalitions and communities that take account of the full breadth of civil society and the strengths of different parts of civil society.”
Douglas Rutzen, ICNL’s President and CEO, is an Advisor on this publication, and he contributed a piece on one of the main themes of the report – legal and regulatory constraints on civil society.
