Guadalupe is an independent consultant in philanthropy and civil society based in Mexico City. She has worked in the field internationally for over 20 years.

From January 2022 to February 2024, she was Director of Special Projects for Colectivo Meta (COMETA), a consultancy firm specialized in civil society organizations where she served organizations in Mexico and Central America supporting their strategic vison and financial resilience practices. From 2016 to 2021 she was the Institutional Development Director of the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness. For nine years starting in 2003, she served as Program Officer, and as Interim Managing Director for Mexico at The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation’s Global Development and Population Program. She also worked as Program Associate for the Development Finance and Economic Security Program at the Ford Foundation Office for Mexico and Central America.  Guadalupe has worked as a consultant for the Ford, Open Society, Oak, MacArthur, and Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundations, Hispanics in Philanthropy, the Fund for Global Human Rights, Spring Strategies y Colectivo Meta.

The core of Guadalupe’s work has focused on assisting civil society organizations and donors in designing and implementing strategic and operational plans, evaluating strategies, programs and projects, assessing and advising on institutional development, and financial resilience. She has written about the challenges for civil society and philanthropy development in Mexico, including money laundry regulations and their impact on Mexican civil society organizations.

Guadalupe is a board member of the Mexican Fund for Nature Conservation and Incide Social.  She also serves on the Advisory Council of the International Center for Not-for-profit Law.  She holds an M.A. in Development Studies from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, and a B.A. in International Relations from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.  She is a certified Perinatal Educator and Doula from La Salle University.
