Legal Framework

On December 22, 1999, the President of the Republic promulgated Law No. 14 of 1999, which had been passed by the National Assembly in November. This law is intended to regulate Non-Governmental Organizations, a newly defined type of legal entity in Cameroon. Further discussion of the law will be found in the March issue of IJNL. A copy of the law can be obtained from ICNL or from the World Bank Mission in Cameroon. It will shortly be available online.
