Freedom of Assembly on Trial in South Korea

To bring attention to restrictions on the right to freedom of peaceful assembly in South Korea, Amnesty International organized a holographic Ghost Protest in Gwanghwamun Plaza, downtown Seoul, in 2016.

Fortunately, the assembly took place without a hitch. But would have happened if a participant suddenly became violent? This opinion article from The Korea Herald examines the liability of organizers when protests turn violent.
