On January 26, 2021 Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari signed into law the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Health Protection Regulations, which grants the President powers to issue regulations to protect the health and wellbeing of Nigerians in the face of widespread and rising numbers of COVID-19 cases.
