This three-part Guide, developed by Clifford Chance LLP, is designed to help democratic exiles, with special reference to Russian and Belarusian activists, human rights defenders, and civil society organization (CSO) representatives who consider residing in the Czech Republic.

Each volume addresses critical legal considerations to help ensure compliance and facilitate effective integration. 

• Volume I – Legal Residence and International Protection 
  Provides an overview of legal pathways for democratic exiles, including visa options and procedures for obtaining international protection in the Czech Republic. 

• Volume II – Employment, Taxation, and Financial Management 
  Outlines the legal conditions for employment, taxation obligations for foreign nationals, procedures for receiving grants or donations, opening bank accounts, and accessing public health insurance. 

• Volume III – Company Establishment and Operation 
  Details the legal requirements and procedures for registering, managing, and operating a company in the Czech Republic, with relevance to CSOs and initiatives led by democratic exiles.
