Elizabeth Givens is the Chief of Party for the Legal Support Program (LSP) in Tajikistan that seeks to strengthen civil society’s capacity and to support a more responsive justice system.

Prior to joining ICNL, Elizabeth worked at the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative, where she directed programs in the Caucasus, Balkans and North Africa. Her portfolio focused on strengthening rule of law and supporting human rights by working with host governments, justice sector actors and civil society. Prior to her international work, she practiced law in California as a public defender representing indigent criminal defendants. She received her JD from University of California, Berkeley School of Law and is a member of the California bar. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.
