ICNL Hires New Legal Counsel for NIS

The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law is pleased to announce that as of February 1, 2002, Pavel Smiltneks has been hired as Legal Counsel for NIS countries in its Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Smiltneks is an experienced Russian lawyer who has been working in the countries of the former USSR since 1992. Mr. Smiltneks is a graduate of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Department of International Law, and received his LLM from Louisiana State University with a concentration in Corporate Law, Finance, Securities and M&A.
Mr. Smiltneks previously worked in ICNL’s Washington D.C. office as a Senior Legal Fellow for the NIS group since November 2001. Under the direction of ICNL’s Vice President- NIS and other ICNL senior staff, Mr. Smiltneks will assist on the legal side of ICNL’s rapidly growing activities in the countries of the Newly Independent States.
