12) Law 9,608, of February 18th, 1998 – regulates the voluntary service

Art. 1. For the purposes of this law, it is considered a voluntary service the unpaid activity provided by
an individual to a public entity of any kind or to a non -profit private institution that has civic, cultural,
educational, scientific, recreational o r social assistance purposes, including mutuality .
Sole Paragraph. The voluntary service does not generate an employment relationships nor an obligation
of labor or social security nature or alike.

Art. 2. The voluntary service will be performed upon the execution of an adhesion term by and between
the entity, public or private, and the provider of the voluntary service, and it shall contain the object and
the conditions for its performance.

Art. 3. The provider of the voluntary service may be re imbursed for the incurred expenses for carrying
out the volunteer activities.
Sole Paragraph. The expenses to be reimbursed must be specifically authorized by the entity to which
the voluntary service is provided.

Art. 4. This law comes into force as of t he date of its publication.

Art.5. All provisions to the contrary are revoked.
