Through the Voluntary Organizations Act of 2007 Cypriot law regulates and protects Voluntary and Charitable institutions. If the organization is non-profit, voluntary and established for a lawful purpose then it would be protected by the Voluntary Organizations Act. However, being registered requires the organization to share internal details such as accounts and group structure and confers important advantages for collection of funds, benefitting from grants and financial aid from the central government and its ministries, benefit from legal exemptions and entitlements, and for the ability to act as a party in service contracts. !
