POLICY FORGRANT OFINTERIM PERMISSION TOINTERNATIONAL
NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONs(INGOs)ENGAGED INRELIEF
WORK FOREARTHQUAKE AFFECTEES
Subject:-
Inorder tostreamline andfacilitate theprocess ofgranting interim
permission tothe International NGOswhoaredesirous ofinitiating/undertaking relief
efforts inthe wake ofearthquake, thecompetent authorityinEAD hasbeen pleased to
prescribe followingcriteriaforcompliance/strict observancebyallconcerned:
1. The INGO should submit anapplication addressedtothe Secretary,
Economic AffairsDivision, seekingpermission towork inPakistan in
connection withtherelief activities forthe earthquake affectees.The
application shouldbeaccompanied withthefollowing documents:

ofregistration inthe country oforigin;
Letter ofrecommendation/endorsement byacompetent officer
of the respective embassyinIslamabad; and
Programme/profile ofproposed projectstheINGO wants to
pursue withspecific location whereINGOwilloperate; and
In-hand humanandfinancial resources/capacity forcarrying out
operations.

2. After analysis ofthe documents andsubsequent approval,time-bound
permission willbegranted tothe INGO towork forrelief operations inthe
specified earthquake affectedareas.
3. INGOs intending toget involved inthe rehabilitation effort,should enter
into anMOU withtheEAD asper theexisting policy.
