ICNL’s resources and information on Democratic Republic of Congo.
Overview
ICNL has worked with CSO partners in Eastern DRC since 2020 to popularize public participation principles among Women-led civil society organizations and other key stakeholders in the region and to contribute to the meaningful involvement of women NGOs in decision-making processes. Our support has facilitated a wide range of initiatives including baseline research, strategy-building workshops, public outreach and advocacy. We also provided support for the organization of roundtables/town hall panel discussions with key stakeholders to shape and spur CSOs-state collaboration on the issue of non-involvement of women’s groups and NGOs in decision-making processes.
The index, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development for twenty years, documents the development of civil society in seventy-one countries around the world, including the Democratic Republic of Congo. ICNL and FHI 360 work with local partners to produce the index annually.
