A culture of philanthropy is well-rooted in Kuwaiti society, but the legal framework for civil society and nonprofit organizations is somewhat restrictive. However, in recent years, positive changes have been introduced, including increased flexibility by the government regarding the incorporation of public charities and the introduction of nonprofit companies as a legal form.
