Introducing the U.S. Center for Nonprofit Law

We are excited to announce that ICNL’s U.S. Program is now the U.S. Center for Nonprofit Law (USCNL).

This represents an important milestone in our work to create a legal environment that protects nonprofits and civic participation in the U.S.

USCNL serve as a nonpartisan resource for organizations, advocates, and policymakers. We provide legal analysis and practical resources to those navigating the law and those working to improve it. Our work addresses some of the most urgent legal issues facing nonprofits and civic participation today, including:

  • Navigating threats to tax-exempt status
  • Protecting the right to peaceful assembly
  • Responding to government investigations
  • Reforming national security laws that threaten civil liberties

USCNL is an initiative of the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL), which has worked on laws affecting nonprofits and philanthropy around the world for over thirty years.

We hope you’ll visit our new website at www.uscnl.org to learn more. If you would like periodic updates on our work, you can sign up for USCNL’s newsletter.
