ICNL’s resources and information on Jordan.
Jordan
Overview
ICNL’s Online Freedoms project aims to enhance civil society and public knowledge about the legal framework governing internet freedoms in Jordan. We also provide technical assistance to CSOs, government officials, and other stakeholders to support laws, regulations, and practices that protect and promote free expression online.
Resource Highlight
THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION ONLINE IN JORDAN
Since October 2017, the Jordanian government has repeatedly attempted to regulate the use of social media in ways that limit free expression. ICNL’s guide provides a deeper understanding of the laws and regulations aimed at social media use and the right to freedom of expression online.
Civil Society Organization Sustainability Index
The index, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development for twenty years, documents the development of civil society in seventy-one countries around the world, including Jordan. ICNL and FHI 360 work with local partners to produce the index annually.
