ICNL’s Civic Freedom Monitor provides up-to-date information on legal issues affecting civil society and civic freedoms, including freedoms of association, expression, and peaceful assembly. We currently maintain reports on over 50 countries and eight multilateral organizations. There are also archived country reports which are no longer updated. Each country report provides an overview of key legal issues relating to civic freedoms, with a focus on legal barriers to civil society activity. Each report on a multilateral organization provides an overview of the organization and the legal issues it deals with, affecting civic freedom and civic participation.

Learn more about regional responses on our African Government Responses to COVID-19 and Government Responses to COVID-19 in Asia and the Pacific pages.
