As part of the USAID-funded Civil Society Strengthening Project (CSSP), ICNL supports a CSO-led process to improve Morocco’s legal framework for civil society, including the laws and policies that facilitate civil society’s participation in governance.

Resource Highlight


These guidelines examine legal mechanisms that facilitate cooperation between civil society organizations and Morocco’s national, regional, provincial, and communal governments. Included are recommendations for putting the guidelines into practice based on successful models of cooperation from around the world.

Civil Society Organization Sustainability Index

The index, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development for twenty years, documents the development of civil society in seventy-one countries around the world, including Morocco. ICNL and FHI 360 work with local partners to produce the index annually.
